Hotel Moresco photo

The four-star Hotel Moresco is a short walk from the Piazzale Roma with its taxis, airport buses, and People Mover tram from the Marittima cruise terminals and Tronchetto parking island. But thanks to the Moresco's location on the Rio Novo (Venetian dialect for "Rio Nuovo"), the only traffic you're likely to see or hear is from water taxis and other motorboats.

The hotel itself is outstanding, with 23 air-conditioned rooms that offer the option of garden or canal views.

Breakfast and Wi-Fi are included in the rates.

How to reach Hotel Moresco from Piazzale Roma:

Hotel Moresco map directions

  1. On the tree-lined side of the Piazzale Roma, look for the central path that leads toward the water.

  2. A canal is just beyond the trees. Continue straight ahead over the stone footbridge.

  3. Turn right immediately after crossing the bridge and walk along the water, following the curve of the canal on the Fondamenta Rio Novo. You'll soon reach the Hotel Moresco, which is before a bridge alongside the canal.

From the Marittima cruise terminals:

  1. Take a free shuttle bus (if available), a taxi, or the People Mover just outside the port gates to Piazzale Roma. (You can also take the People Mover if you're coming from the Tronchetto parking garage.)

  2. Follow our directions from Piazzale Roma.

From the Santa Lucia railroad station:

  1. As you leave the station, turn right and walk toward the modern Calatrava Bridge (a.k.a. the Ponte della Costituzione).

  2. Cross the bridge to the Piazzale Roma.

  3. Bear left and follow our directions from Piazzale Roma.
