Hotel Pensione Accademia Maravege entrance

Hotel Pensione Accademia Villa Maravege gardenThe Pensione Accademia Villa Maravege is a longtime favorite with Venetophiles. The 17th Century villa once served as a Russian embassy and was featured in Summertime, the 1955 David Lean film that starred Katherine Hepburn.

The hotel has views of the Grand Canal and a large walled garden where breakfast is served in nice weather. It also offers a wide choice of rooms, ranging from singles to junior suites. Drinks and fruit are free in the bar from 4 to 8 p.m. each day.

How to reach the Pensione Accademia from the Zattere airport-boat stop:

  3. Cross either bridge to the west (left) side of the canal.
